Students complete first ever SURF program at DeSales

CategoriesPeopleStudents

Six DSU students, with generous support from Women for DeSales, completed an 8-week Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) in Biology from May-July 2018. Samantha Mullin ’20 and Hannah Godfrey ’20 spent the summer in the Leese Lab exploring the role of steroid hormones on social behavior by utilizing water-borne collection of 11-ketotestosterone from male convict cichlids before and after intersexual competition and exposure to potential female mates. The students hope to present their findings at the 2019 SICB meeting in Tampa, FL.
