Boosting Brand Impact: What Colors Are We?

/ January 31, 2025/ Faculty, Staff, Students

One of the easiest ways to identify a brand is by its colors. These colors should be used consistently across platforms–think flyers, social media posts, t-shirts, etc. Our personal preferences must be set aside to maintain the integrity of the brand. While our favorite colors might be pink and yellow, using them for marketing or other materials across campus creates a cluttered and confusing brand experience.

Did you know that colors have codes? That’s how designers ensure consistency. After all, there are thousands of shades of each color. These codes should be inputted into a project to produce the exact branded color. The type of code used will depend on whether the project is to be printed or digital.

At DeSales, our primary colors are DSU Navy and DSU Scarlett, and then there are a range of reds and blues that act as supporting colors to create contrast.

While we work on making updates to our Brand Guide, you can review our official colors on WordPress.

If you do not know how to input a color code into a specific program, you can search for tutorials online or reach out to us.
