1/24: Register Now for a University-Wide Service Project
In advance of the feast of St. Francis de Sales on Jan. 24, 2024, I write to invite you to join in another University-wide service project, similar to this semester’s Mission Convocation, where we fed families from Africa who are experiencing hunger. You may recall that we assembled more than 20,000 meal packages, each able to feed six people. The offices of community service and advocacy, campus ministry, and mission in the Center for Faith and Justice remain grateful for your generous response.
For this event in January, we aim to assist needs more locally. We are seeking volunteers—for one hour—to help prepare warm packet bundles for area shelters and agencies. Although Jan. 24 is more than a month away, I thought it would be helpful for you to consider your participation now so that you can plan accordingly and we can begin to make necessary preparations. We will work together in the DUC. Drinks and snacks will be available afterwards, along with T-shirts.
That same day, we will celebrate community Mass at noon and host a Salesian Senior Soiree, along with other activities. Details will follow.
Please register here on our website for the service event and make sure to include your shirt size.
Thank you for your commitment to our University’s mission, especially as we honor our patron, St. Francis de Sales, who once wrote: “Nothing is small in the service of God.”
Rev. Kevin Nadolski, OSFS, Ph.D.
Vice President for Mission
