Kayliyah Forbes ’25 Earns FON Award for Excellence as a Student Nurse
Nurses Week 2024 was extra special this year because nursing student Kayliyah Forbes ’25 received the FON Award for Excellence as a Student Nurse at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Friends of Nursing gala.
To be selected for this award, students from colleges in the Lehigh Valley must demonstrate transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, and participation in new knowledge and innovation in the field of nursing.
Among other things, Kayliyah participated in a Bridging the Gaps internship where she worked within the Allentown School District organizing food collections for her local community. She also serves as the event coordinator for the Black Student Union, and consistently cares for her patients empathetically, taking into consideration their minds, bodies, and spirits. Congrats, Kayliyah.
