Now-11/22: Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week Activities

In recognition of Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, Universities across the country will be educating, advocating, and serving communities experiencing food and housing insecurity.

You can participate too. Join us for the following events:

Today, Nov. 18, at 5PM:

  • Community Conversations on Food Insecurity.
    • Discuss and see how far a dollar will go when buying dinner.
  • Dorothy Day, Danko room (changed from O’Connor Commons).

Tuesday, Nov. 19, noon-3PM:

  • De-Stress blanket making, sandwich making, trivia, and raffle prizes.
  • The Dorothy Day Commons.

Wednesday, Nov. 20, 7PM:

  • Faces of Homelessness Panel.
    • Meet and hear the stories of three community members who experienced homelessness.
  • Dooling auditorium.

Thursday, Nov. 21, 8PM6AM:

  • Night Out.
    • Meet in the Commons at 8PM. The group will sleep outside to raise awareness of the housing crisis. Students may bring sleeping bags, tents, cots, and plenty of warm layers.
  • The Dorothy Day Mall.

Friday, Nov. 22, 4PM6:20PM:

  • Serve dinner at Victory House.
  • Meet in the Community Service Office. The group will make and serve dinner at Victory House and back on campus by 6:20PM.
