Internal Job Posting: Program Director for the Doctor of Medical Science Program

DeSales University seeks a dynamic, experienced, and visionary leader to serve as the founding program director for the Doctor of Medical Science Program. The program director will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, academic excellence, and operational oversight of the DMSc program. This role includes program and curriculum development, faculty recruitment and supervision, accreditation compliance, student recruitment and engagement, and fostering partnerships that advance the mission of the program.

• Employment type: Full-time, faculty/administrative.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide academic and administrative leadership for the DMSc program.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the program’s curriculum to ensure academic rigor and relevance.
• Recruit, mentor, and supervise program faculty and staff.
• Ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
• Oversee admissions, student advising, academic progression, and program completion.
• Engage in scholarly activities and encourage faculty and student research.
• Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
• Maintain and build relationships with clinical, academic, and industry partners.
• Prepare and manage the program budget in collaboration with academic leadership.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Earned doctoral degree (DMSc, Ed.D., Ph.D., DSc, or equivalent) required. 
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certified Physician Assistant preferred; other terminally credentialed healthcare professionals with relevant experience may be considered. 
• Minimum of five years of clinical practice and at least three years in higher education or academic program administration. 
• Experience with online learning, curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty mentoring. 
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. 
• Committed to the mission of DeSales University and the values of Salesian Christian humanism. 

Preferred:

• Experience with online education delivery.
• Record of scholarly achievement and professional service.
